Lazio forward Miroslav Klose has not ruled out reversing his decision to retire from international football.
The 37-year-old - who is Germany's all-time top goalscorer with 71 goals - became the all-time leading goalscorer at World Cup finals last summer when he helped Germany to their triumph in Brazil.
Shortly after the tournament, Klose announced he was not going to represent his country again.
However, after scoring 13 league goals for Lazio last season and earning a contract extension with the Serie A side, the veteran forward admits he is tempted to pull on his country's shirt again.
"I spoke with [Germany coach] Joachim Low just a few weeks ago," Klose told Bild.
"It's not an issue at the moment, but you should never say never."
He will not play another World Cup, though, and he does not expect his finals record of 16 goals to stand for long either.
"Thomas Muller could break it," he said. "He's already got 10 and if he remains fit - and I expect he will - then he can play in another two finals.
"Thomas has a real eye for goal, and in addition to that he takes the penalties - I wasn't ever allowed to do that."
