Germany keeper Manuel Neuer insists he has no intention of standing aside and allowing Roman Weidenfeller to win his first cap against England on Tuesday.
Neuer has been told he will play against Italy in Milan on Friday, but coach Joachim Low may choose to test one of the fringe candidates for his World Cup squad at Wembley.
Neuer admits he would be disappointed if the Borussia Dortmund keeper was picked ahead of him for the prestigious friendly.
"As a professional, you want to be involved in games against such teams," he said.
"Particularly in view of the World Cup, games like this against attractive opponents are worth a lot because they could come up against us in the knock-out stage, so this is a chance to gain experience against them.
"I'll just have to see what the coach decides."
