Germany head coach Joachim Low has allowed attacking midfielder Mario Gotze to return to Borussia Dortmund ahead of Tuesday's final Euro 2012 qualifier against Belgium.

Low has informed Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp that he feels the 19-year-old needs a break before resuming Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League action.

The Germans have already qualified for next summer's tournament as winners of Group A, taking the pressure off going into the final round.

Gotze's Dortmund team-mate Ilkay Gundogan has been promoted from the Under-21 squad to replace him, while Toni Kroos is back in training after missing Friday's 3-1 victory over Turkey due to injury.

Real Madrid attacker Mesut Ozil was also absent from the Istanbul clash with an Achilles problem, but is likely to fill Gotze's spot in the starting XI against Belgium.

Decision

"I would really, really love to play," Ozil told the German football association's (DFB) official website. "The medical department of the DFB are taking good care of me.

"My Achilles tendon complaints have reduced, but a decision will be made after our final training session on Monday at the earliest.

"It may even be on the day of the game itself after discussions with the coach, but I hope to be fit."

Ozil, who hails from a Turkish family, was upset to miss Friday night's encounter.

The 22-year-old hopes Germany can help Turkey out by beating Belgium on Tuesday, which would allow them to clinch second place with a win over Azerbaijan.

"I was really annoyed that I could not play (against Turkey) due to my injury," he added.

"We are all proud about our winning streak and we will do everything we can to win our last game too."
