Germany's World Cup trio Michael Ballack, Miroslav Klose and Oliver Kahn all missed training on Tuesday amidst rumours of injury and discontent.
Captain Ballack was passed 'perfectly fit' by coach Jurgen Klinsmann on Monday, after sitting out the last training session because of an injury to his right foot, but he is still yet to train with the squad.
Four-goal marksman Klose also failed to show for the practice though the German football association (DFB) have stated the two were otherwise engaged.
"Ballack is doing a full workout today, but due to fitness reasons and regeneration methods, without a ball," DFB spokesman Hans Ulrich Voigt explained.
"With Klose it's the exact same thing. It has nothing to do with injuries or anything like that. The boys are doing special individual training programmes today."
Out-of-favour goalkeeper Kahn also missed training after his public outburst in which he claimed he should be the team's number one, but that was put down to illness.
The news will certainly not dishearten the Argentinians as they prepare to go head-to-head with the hosts on Friday in their crucial quarter final encounter at the Olympiastadion.
