Serbian goalkeeper keen to head back to England

Vladimir Stojkovic has expressed his desire to secure a permanent move to a Premier League club. The Serbian goalkeeper is currently on the books of Sporting Lisbon, but finds himself well down the pecking order in Portugal. Having slipped out of favour he was allowed to join Wigan on a six-month loan deal in January 2010. He failed to make much of an impact at the DW Stadium, finding himself restricted to only a handful of appearances, but thoroughly enjoyed his time in England.

Possibilities

A number of assured displays for Serbia at this summer's World Cup helped to further raise his profile and put him firmly in the shop window. Stojkovic now claims to have a number of options to consider, but admits that his preferred choice is to make a switch to the Premier League. "I am set to talk with Sporting but my future is still undecided," said the 26-year-old shot-stopper. "There is a possibility for a return to Portugal but I would prefer to move back to England."
