Italy coach Marcello Lippi has defended the quality of strikers he has to choose from.

The Azzurri tackle Russia in Cagliari on February 9 and Lippi is more than happy with his attacking options available.

Lippi has stated a number of Serie A brass are ready for the call and is unworried about being able to penetrate the Russians in the final third.

"You must think of our attack: Vieri, Inzaghi, Gilardino, Del Piero, Totti, Miccoli, Montella, Cassano and Toni," said Lippi to Gazzetta dello Sport.

"We have an abundance of talent. We are at a good point to assemble a strong squad due to the many quality components offered by Italian football.

"In addition to Juventus and Milan, many of the players are from teams who play in a good way and have a lot of Italian players."
