Finland game too soon for Del Piero

ALESSANDRO DEL PIERO has been left out of the Italian squad for their European 2004 qualifier against Finland - with Giovanni Trapattoni deciding that the Juventus man is not back to full fitness.

Del Piero and Milan's injury hit Filippo Inzaghi are the only major omissions from the squad - with Perugia's Fabrizio Miccoli and Bernardo Corradi of Lazio benefitting from their absence.

Trapattoni welcomes back Christian Vieri and Francesco Totti after injury pushed them out of his last squad - and Nicola Legrottaglie and Matteo Ferrari named amongst the defenders.

GOALKEEPERS: Buffon, Toldo.
DEFENDERS: Fabio Cannavaro, Nesta, Legrottaglie, Panucci, Ferrari, Birindelli.
MIDFIELDERS: Zambrotta, Camoranesi, Fiore, Perrotta, Zanetti, Pirlo, Tommasi.
FORWARDS: Corradi, Delvecchio, Miccoli, Totti, Vieri.
