Former Chelsea and Newcastle boss Ruud Gullit has revealed he wants the vacant Holland manager's job.
Holland are searching for a new manager following Bert van Marwijk's decision to step down following their disappointing showing at Euro 2012.
Gullit, who captained Holland to success at Euro 88, is out of work and believes he can turnaround his country's fortunes if they come calling for him
"If they call me this week I will feel really honoured to do the job," Gullit told the
Sunday Mirror.
"I know I can do it. I've lost a lot as a manager, but people forget I also won a lot. As a player and as a manager."
Out of the running
Meanwhile, Guus Hiddink and Ronald Koeman have ruled themselves out of the running for the job.
Anzhi Makhachkala chief Hiddink insists he is not available for the role and admits he was shocked by the departure of van Marwijk.
"I am not available," admitted Hiddink. "I don't want the job. I have just had carte blanche from the owner of my club Anzhi anyway.
"But I have been amazed and shocked by the speed of Van Marwijk's departure.
"It takes a long time to get over all the emotions around the Dutch team for a coach and for players. This is not good for Dutch football.''
Ronald Koeman, who was the favourite to succeed van Marwijk, claims he is happy to stay at Feyenoord and has backed Gullit for the role.
"I don't want it either. I have signed a new deal with Feyenoord," admitted Koeman.
"We qualified for the Champions League with a bunch of young talented players and I prefer working with them.
"I did say earlier this year I wanted the job of national coach. But not anymore.
"They should give it to Gullit. He has the skills of dealing with these players and he is the best man for the job."
