Rafael van der Vaart has been ruled out of Holland's Euro 2008 qualifier against Slovenia on Wednesday night.
The Hamburg star suffered a calf injury in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Romania and had to be withdrawn after 86 minutes of the game at De Kuip.
Oranje coach Marco van Basten will now have to plan without the talented forward after the confirmation that van der Vaart will not be fit to make the trip to Celje in midweek.
Van Basten has also opted to send Feyenoord keeper Henk Timmer home as Edwin van der Sar is expected to shrug off a calf injury to reclaim his place as Holland's number one.
Maarten Stekelenburg deputised against Romania but the experienced Manchester United keeper should return as Holland aim to cement their place at the top of Group G.
Van Basten's travelling party now comprises just 18 players, with Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben still nursing light injuries.
