MILAN midfielder Clarence Seedorf has been surprisingly overlooked for selection by Holland coach Dick Advocaat for the upcoming Euro 2004 qualifiers against Austria and Czech Republic.

Advocaat feels his charges have not shown enough recently, with Seedorf the apparent scapegoat.

"The last months have seen the Dutch squad criticised, which is correct," said Advocaat. "We have not shown enough."

Arjen Robben has been given the nod by Advocaat, following his bright start to the season for PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch currently trail Czech Republic in Group Three on goal difference, meaning their meeting could prove pivotal regarding who secures automatic qualification for Portugal.
