Northern Ireland will have to wait until Monday to discover whether their European Qualifier in Romania next month will take place behind closed doors.
Crowd disturbances during Romania’s 1-1 draw with Hungary in Bucharest resulted in UEFA initiating proceedings against both national federations.
Fireworks and missiles were hurled by Romanian fans and UEFA also cited the players for improper conduct in an ill-tempered clash which saw Scottish referee Willie Collum book a total of 12 players from both sides.
A full or partial stadium closure at the Arena Nationala for the visit of Michael O'Neill's side on November 14 are potential measures that could be taken against the Romanian Football Federation.
The Irish FA had hoped for a resolution by Friday but have been told by UEFA that no decision will be taken until after the weekend.
A brief statement read: "The Irish Football Association have been in contact with UEFA regarding the Romania disciplinary case but have been informed that a decision will not be communicated to any party until Monday 27th October.
"As soon as the decision has been communicated, the Irish FA will issue a further statement on this matter."
