Michael O'Neill says he is pleased to finally get down to some hard work with his players as he prepares for his first game in charge of Northern Ireland.
His first match in charge since taking over from Nigel Worthington will be against Norway at Windsor Park on Wednesday.
And after spending their first night together getting to know the squad O'Neill says it is a relief to finally get down to putting his ideas into action on the training ground.
"Training has been fine," he told Sky Sports News. "It is good to get to know the lads on a personal as well as professional level.
"We had an enjoyable night last night and everyone is very focused and it is good to get them on the grass at last.
"We had a brief chat amongst ourselves and I spoke to the lads on an individual basis as well.
"Some new lads have come in and some of the lads have been out of the squad for a while so it was good for them to get some time together."
