Shamrock Rovers have confirmed Thursday's Europa League clash with Tottenham Hotspur will be manager Michael O'Neill's last game at the helm.
O'Neill is one of the leading candidates for the vacant Northern Ireland post and will leave the Dublin club when his contract expires at the end of the month.
It is thought the 42-year-old will be interviewed by the Irish Football Association this week.
He has led Shamrock to back-to-back titles and helped them become the first League of Ireland club to reach the group stages of the Europa League.
Success
A club statement said: "Shamrock Rovers can confirm that manager Michael O'Neill will leave the club when his current contract finishes at the end of December.
"The club would like to thank Michael for the great success he has brought to the club during his three-year tenure at Shamrock Rovers and we would like to wish him the best for his future career.
"Everyone at the club is focused on Thursday night's big Europa League game against Tottenham Hotspur at Tallaght Stadium.
"The club will not be making any further comment on the matter."
Earlier this year O'Neill had seemed eager to extend his contract but recently admitted managing his national side was an "attractive" option.
