Germany crushed Northern Ireland at Windsor Park 4-1 despite playing for much of the contest a man down.

It was Lawrie Sanchez's side who got the opening goal when Leeds' David Healy netted from the penalty spot.

The home side were gifted the spot-kick when Chelsea defender Robert Huth was dismissed after just 15 minutes for palming Keith Gillespie's goal-bound shot over the bar.

Jurgen Klinsmann's side were unruffled by the exit of Huth and were back on level terms shortly after when Gerald Asamoah netted.

The second half was one way traffic with Michael Ballack's quick-fire double, his second coming from the penalty spot, settling the contest.

There was still time for rising star Lukas Podolski to add a fourth to cap a fantastic performance for Germany at Windsor Park.
