Wales manager Chris Coleman says he is confident his younger players will step up to the plate in the absence of star duo Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen.

Injured duo Ramsey and Allen are both missing from Coleman's 26-man squad, which includes six uncapped players, for the forthcoming European qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Cyprus.

Arsenal playmaker Ramsey damaged a hamstring against Tottenham last weekend and has been ruled out of action for the next four weeks.

Liverpool midfielder Allen has not played since Wales' opening Euro 2016 victory in Andorra on September 9 after undergoing a hernia operation.

Wolves midfielder Lee Evans is named along with Leicester City striker Tom Lawrence and Reading frontman Jake Taylor. Charlton defender Rhoys Wiggins and goalkeepers Kyle Letheren and Owain Fon Williams are the other uncapped players included.

"We have had a lot of pull-outs, some young ones are in there but as we have found out in the past when we were missing certain players the lads have stepped up to the plate, Coleman told Sky Sports News HQ after naming a 26-man squad for the Cardiff City Stadium double-header.

"Everybody wants to talk about Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey and the likes. We are missing Rambo and Allen in this camp. But what we do know is that the lads that come in do a good job.

More from Wales V Bosnia

"The bell tolls for us a week on Friday week against Bosnia. The squad we have got has some inexperienced players but they are good players and we have got faith in them and we know they will do a good job for us and put in a performance for us that will give us a chance to get a result.

Wales have jumped up to 29th in the world rankings - their highest spot for for twenty years - but Coleman feels his team can cope with the expectation and pressure that comes with that.

He said: "We have shot up the rankings for a reason and that is because the players have been doing very well and getting results. We said if we are going to do anything it will be because of the squad and not one or two players and we have been proved right.

"There is a lot of optimism going into this campaign but that is for a reason, we have got one of the best players on the planet in Gareth Bale and we have been doing quite well this last twelve months.

"We have lost one in the last six and that was a way to Holland. The guys who have been coming in have been doing a great job and we have a real good atmosphere in the camp.

"There is good respect for each other and a willingness to work hard. It's about the squad and not one or two good players, we have to carry on working hard."
