Craig Bellamy will retire from international football after Wales' final World Cup qualifier against Belgium in October.
A key figure in his boyhood club's promotion to the top flight this season, the Cardiff striker will call it a day having amassed 73 caps for his country.
"That will be it, I don't think I will have any more to offer," Bellamy told The Sun.
"I've had too many injuries that have taken too big an effect on me."
The biggest disappointment for the 33-year-old is that he will bring a 15-year international career to an end without having featured in a major finals.
However Bellamy believes that he leaves a side more than capable of qualifying for a major tournament in the near future.
"I personally believe in the next four, six, eight years we will qualify," he added.
"We are just too good not to if we get the structure right. We have so many good players."
