David Edwards has replaced the suspended Aaron Ramsey in the Wales squad for the game against Croatia on Tuesday.
Edwards missed Friday's 2-1 home win over Scotland for family reasons but is back in the ranks for the crucial World Cup qualifier in Osijek.
The 26-year-old midfielder also missed the last game for his club side Wolves after rushing back from Blackburn for the birth of his daughter.
But Edwards has been called upon and could feature given that former skipper Ramsey was booked against Scotland and automatically misses the trip.
That is the only change in Chris Coleman's squad to face a side unbeaten in Group A and only behind leaders Belgium on goal difference.
A win would see Coleman's side close the gap on Croatia to just one point after kickstarting their campaign thanks to two late Gareth Bale goals sinking the Scots on Friday.
