In-form Owain Fon-Williams is hoping he will be making his international debut for Wales next week.

The Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper has been attracting a huge amount of plaudits for his displays for the Wirrall outfit this season and has already kept five clean sheets.

Wales are without first choice pair Wayne Hennessey and Boaz Myhill, leaving Fon-Williams to compete with Jason Brown and Lewis Price for a place in their double header against Scotland and Croatia.

But neither Brown or Price are playing first-team football for their respective clubs Aberdeen and Crystal Palace, leading to calls for Fon-Williams to be given his first cap.

The 25-year-old is now hopeful he has done enough to impress Chris Coleman and, speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Obviously I would love to be involved, but that is down to the boss.

"I am loving just playing first-team football at Tranmere and if I get international recognition off the back of that then great.

"My main aim this season remains promotion with Tranmere, but clearly making my international debut would be a huge honour for me."
