The Football Association of Wales has called a press conference for Thursday when Gary Speed's successor as national team manager is expected to be announced.

Former Wales internationals Chris Coleman and John Hartson have both expressed strong interest in taking over from Speed, who died in November.

Other names linked with the role include Ryan Giggs, Ian Rush and Speed's assistant Raymond Verheijen.

The press conference at St David's Hotel in Cardiff Bay has been scheduled for midday, and Sky Sports News understands the new manager will be named.
