SUNDERLAND midfielder Claudio Reyna has been included in the USA's squad for next week's friendly with Wales.

The former Rangers star has been out of action since last October after sustaining a serious knee injury at Bolton Wanderers this season.

Reyna is unlikely to feature against Mark Hughes' men but USA coach Bruce Arena is keen to have his captain around the squad.

Jeff Agoos and Greg Vanney have won recalls to the squad after almost a year out of the reckoning.

Bastia defender Vanney has not been in the squad since last May, while San Jose Earthquakes ace Agoos has not featured since the World Cup finals in the Far East.

Lens goalkeeper Joe Cannon, DC United midfielder Alecko Eskandarian and San Jose striker Brian Ching have all won their first call-ups to the squad.

The USA face Wales next Monday at San Jose, California.

Full squad:
Joe Cannon (Lens), Nick Rimando (DC United), Jeff Agoos (San Jose), C.J. Brown (Chicago), Mike Petke (DC United), Greg Vanney (Bastia), Bobby Convey (DC United), Ramiro Corrales (San Jose), Eddie Lewis (Preston North End), Richard Mulrooney (San Jose), Ben Olsen (DC United), Claudio Reyna (Sunderland), Earnie Stewart (DC United), Brian Ching (San Jose), Landon Donovan (San Jose), Alecko Eskandarian (DC United) Jovan Kirovski (Birmingham City)

Meanwhile, Wales have been hit by two further withdrawls as Tranmere Rovers striker Simon Haworth is away on honeymoon and Swansea City hit-man James Thomas is away on holiday.

Millwall ace Matthew Rees has been called up to the squad to fill the void of the withdrawals.
