Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Regan is hoping to secure some home weekend games when he meets to negotiate Scotland's World Cup qualifying schedule.
Regan will meet his counterparts from Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, Macedonia and Wales in Brussels on Wednesday to thrash out a schedule for Group A of European qualifying for the 2014 World Cup, to be played in Brazil.
FIFA now prefers games to be played on Tuesdays and Fridays following discussions with club sides concerned about their players returning from international duty tired and fatigued.
Tuesday and Friday fixtures came into play for the Euro 2012 qualifiers but after opposition from Strathclyde police Scotland continued to play home games on Saturdays
In order to comply with FIFA's regulations Craig Levein's men face the possibility of having to play all of their World Cup qualifiying home games on a Tuesday. However, Regan has announced his intention to try and ensure at least some home games are played at the weekend.
Writing on Twitter, Regan said: "I'd prefer to see a range of dates including weekends for those fans who cannot make it on an evening."
