Scotland international midfielder Scott Brown was delighted with his midweek outing against world champions Italy.
The Hibernian ace made the step up from the Under 21s on Wednesday to make his full debut in a Euro 2008 qualifier.
Brown, who is reportedly catching the eye of Bolton, had no complaints regarding his performance and felt the side played well despite losing 2-0.
"It was a massive step up from the Under 21s to facing the world champions," stated Brown.
"It's the step I had to take and, to be honest, I was delighted with how I coped.
"I thought it was a good performance from the team, even in defeat.
"I liked the role I had in there and I think it helps when you have class like Barry Ferguson and Paul Hartley behind you.
"They were constantly encouraging me to go forward."
