Lee Miller has been called up by Scotland manager Walter Smith to replace Lee McCulloch for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The Wigan striker played the full 90 minutes in The Latics' 1-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday, but collected a knock in the game.

Former Bristol City striker Miller, who scored in Dundee United's draw with Inverness CT, has been the recipient of McCulloch's misfortune for the clashes with Italy and Norway.

Smith will be hoping none of his other stars sustain injuries, with Wolves pair Kenny Miller and Jackie McNamara set to play on Tuesday.

The duo are sure to feature in Wolves' clash against QPR, although Smith would prefer to have the players with his squad.

"Sadly, there is nothing we can do about it," said a disappointed Smith.

"The current Fifa ruling regarding the release of players extends to just four days before a World Cup tie."
