David Marshall, Richard Hughes and Russell Anderson have all withdrawn from the Scotland squad.

The trio have pulled out of Berti Vogts' squad for the game against Spain this week and are doubtful for next week's World Cup qualifier with Slovenia.

Hughes missed Portsmouth's win over Fulham on Bank Holiday Monday through injury and he has failed to recover in time to meet up with the Scotland squad.

Marshall played for Celtic in their 1-0 win over Rangers last weekend, but reported a problem in training.

Aberdeen defender Anderson is also struggling with a slight problem and will not make the trip to Valencia.

Meanwhile, Hibernian defender Gary Caldwell has declared himself fit to face Spain on Friday.

Caldwell was doubtful for the game after picking up a chest injury in last weekend's draw with Dundee, but the former Newcastle man has shaken off the problem to take his place in the squad.
