Wayne Rooney admits that he was not at his best as England were held by Poland, while Steven Gerrard is targeting a perfect finish to qualification.

Disappointed

England are now just one point ahead of Montenegro, who have a game in hand, at the top of Group H and national skipper Gerrard admits there can be no more slip-ups on the road to Brazil 2014. "The lads are disappointed - we know we can play better," he said. "We're playing at the top level and we had to get ourselves up for this but I didn't think we were totally at the races. We never passed the ball well enough, for whatever reason. "Montenegro got a fantastic result in Ukraine, which has turned the group in their favour. That's why we wanted maximum points to go into the New Year in the driving seat. "Our points tally could be a lot better. We have to make sure we take maximum points from Montenegro when we play them. I'm confident we can beat all the other sides."
