Roy Hodgson has recalled Ashley Cole for England's World Cup qualifier against Poland in Warsaw tonight, Sky Sports understands.
The Chelsea left-back was dropped for the 5-0 victory over San Marino despite apologising for his Twitter criticism of the Football Association, but is back in the starting XI in place of Leighton Baines.
Cole's return is one of six changes for the Three Lions, as Glen Johnson ousts Kyle Walker at right-back having completed a suspension and Joleon Lescott steps in for Gary Cahill to partner Phil Jagielka in the heart of the defence.
In midfield, James Milner takes Theo Walcott's right-wing berth with the latter still struggling from a collision last time out, and Steven Gerrard is back from a ban to captain the side at Alex Oxlade Chamberlain's expense.
Wayne Rooney continues to provide the visitors' main attacking threat, but is set to be partnered by Jermain Defoe rather than club-mate Danny Welbeck.
England probable XI: Hart, Johnson, Jagielka, Lescott, Cole, Milner, Gerrard, Carrick, Cleverley, Rooney, Defoe.
