Former Charlton striker Jonatan Johansson reckons Roy Hodgson is more than capable of making tough decisions in the international arena.
The new England boss has received a mixed reaction from fans and the press since his appointment on Tuesday, with many highlighting his difficulties handling the big players during his short tenure at Liverpool.
However Johansson, who played under Hodgson for the Finland national team, does not think that will be an issue, and has backed his former manager to be a big success.
"What I liked about Hodgson is that he is not scared of taking big decisions, he is very equal to everybody," Johansson told Sky Sports News Radio.
"He is a very passionate manager. He can get you fired up, and can have a shot at you as well."
Johansson, now working as Greenock Morton's reserve-team coach, added: "He gave us a bit of that British winning mentality, and we enjoyed having him as Finland manager."
