William continues his efforts over 2018

Prince William had breakfast with Fifa's Paraguayan member Nicolas Leoz as England 2018 looked to keep the momentum going for their World Cup bid. William finished meetings with other Fifa members after midnight and was straight into the fray on Wednesday morning with another face-to-face over breakfast with Leoz. The meeting shows England 2018's determination to overcome any backlash from Panorama - Leoz was one of the three FIFA members accused by the BBC programme of taking bribes in the 1990s. The Prince also met Rafael Salguero from Guatemala, Qatar's Mohamed bin Hammam and USA's Chuck Blazer on Tuesday night. His mood was said by aides to be upbeat and positive, but far from complacent. William has also impressed England 2018 officials with his ability to make Fifa members feel relaxed, and his sense of humour. William will speak during England 2018's presentation, as will Prime Minister David Cameron and David Beckham.

PMQs

Cameron returned to London on Wednesday morning for Prime Minister's Questions and was due to head back to Zurich in the afternoon. He also met Blazer as well as Issa Hayatou from Cameroon and Ivory Coast's Jacques Anouma on Tuesday night. A Downing Street spokesman said: "The Prime Minister continued his work to build support for England late into the night last night, with meetings with the FIFA delegates from Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, and the USA. "In those discussions he was once again totally focused on the bid's technical and commercial strengths. "The Prime Minister is now on his way back to London for PMQs. He will return to Zurich later today. "He will be leaving a small team of officials on the ground in Zurich during the day to ensure that Downing Street remains fully plugged into the efforts of Prince William, David Beckham and the wider bid team while he is back in London."
