Central defender Jonathan Woodgate has been ruled out of England's Euro 2008 qualifier with Israel.
The Middlesbrough stopper has been carrying a knee problem and has struggled to train since joining up with the squad on Tuesday.
Now England have opted to leave Woodgate at home, as the rest of the squad jetted out to Tel Aviv on Thursday.
Woodgate will continue to get treatment from England's physios with the hope he may still be fit for next week's clash with Andorra.
England head coach Steve McClaren said: "Jonathan's fitness comes first and we won't take risks with any player.
"We will keep in close contact with Middlesbrough over the next few days to determine his availability for the Andorra match."
