WAYNE ROONEY has been included in the England squad, with Sven Goran Eriksson seeing enough in Everton's game against Arsenal to include the young talent.

Eriksson had hinted that he would not be taking Rooney - but the youngster's fine goal against Arsenal appears to have caused a change of heart.

Chelsea's John Terry has also been called up for the games against Liechtenstein and Turkey, and is joined by Jermaine Jenas in the 25-man squad.

West Ham captain Joe Cole is a notable omission from the squad, as is Manchester United's Wes Brown - who is believed to have picked up an injury.

Arsenal's Francis Jeffers keeps his place after his dramatic goal against Australia, whilst Darius Vassell is also given a place amongst the forwards.
