Socceroos pair delighted with away win

Lucas Neill has hinted his future could be resolved soon after a superb display against Wales. The former West Ham, Blackburn and Everton man has found himself without a club following a season-long switch to Turkish side Galatasaray in 2010. However, the 33-year-old was selected to skipper Australia to a 2-1 win over a disappointing Wales side with goals from Tim Cahill and Robbie Kruse before a late Darcy Blake consolation for the hosts. In a firm performance in the heart of the Socceroos defence, Neill also seemed hopeful about his future in football. "It was my first (game) of the season, now I need a job. I'm sure that'll come soon, but the manager has given me great confidence to pick me," he told Sky Sports.

Tough

On the game, he said: "We made it tough for ourselves, I supposed we got a little bit tired and they kept putting pressure on us. "They got a goal, it was a bit sloppy from a set-piece which we're disappointed about, but it's a great win because this is a tough team - don't be fooled by the rankings, they have some good experience and a lot of Premier League players." Goalscorer Cahill was also pleased with the win, adding: "We knew what we were up against it, but the main thing is we pressed well, we kept the ball moving. "When we had the opportunity to create something we did it, so overall it was a great game."
