Goalkeeper to miss Russia and Wales clashes

Goalkeeper Robert Enke has been ruled out of Germany's World Cup qualifiers against Russia and Wales. The Hannover player, who was expected to start both matches, broke a wrist bone in training on Wednesday. Enke has lined up between the posts in all three of Germany's matches since Jens Lehmann retired at the end of Euro 2008. News of his absence will come as a major blow for coach Joachim Low ahead of Saturday's crucial match against Russia and the meeting with Wales next week. Low will now have to choose between uncapped keepers Rene Adler of Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen's Tim Wiese. Germany will be anxious to pick up three points against Russia and Wales after being held to a 3-3 draw by Finland last month.
