Derby midfielder Kris Commons and Falkirk defender Darren Barr have won their first call-ups to the Scotland squad for next week's clash with Northern Ireland.
Barr has figured for the Scotland B squad in the past, while Commons has never featured for Scotland at any level.
Commons, who joined Derby from arch-rivals Nottingham Forest in the summer, is regarded as one of the best young players outside the Premier League.
Scotland boss George Burley is keen to have the look at the duo as he begins his plans for next month's World Cup qualifiers.
Burley will have to do without injured skipper Barry Ferguson for the clash with Nigel Worthington's troops.
There are no places in the squad for Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch or Birmingham striker Garry O'Connor.
