Giuly, Makelele, Pires and Thuram all linked with French side

Roma midfielder Ludovic Giuly is just one of a number of transfer targets for Paris St Germain, according to chairman Charles Villeneuve. PSG have been linked with the captures of France legends Giuly, Claude Makelele, Robert Pires and Lillian Thuram. Giuly is set to leave Serie A side Roma this summer, and it is reported that he is keen to return to his homeland. Chelsea midfielder Makelele is also a target of PSG, while Villeneuve has confirmed the club have held talks with Barcelona's out-of-contract defender Thuram. "Thuram, Makelele and Guily? I cannot deny those names," Villeneuve told France Football. "Thuram is a high level athlete I know very well. But I am not obsessed about the arrival of Thuram. We have had a talk together, but there are other players.

Pires interest

"It would be great if I could find an agreement with Guily. I like him." Villeneuve went on to admit that PSG are likely to fail in their bid to sign Villarreal midfielder Pires. "It has been rumoured I met Patrick Muller and Robert Pires. I know Pires very well," he continued. "Considering his position at Villarreal and the fact they will play in the UEFA Champions League next season, I expect him to remain at the club." Villeneuve also confirmed that defender Zoumana Camara will remain at Parc des Princes, amid interest from Atletico Madrid. "Zoumana Camara is an important player for us so he will stay," Villeneuve concluded.
