George Burley has admitted he faces a tough selection dilemma as he prepares to name his first Scotland squad.
Burley became Scotland manager in late January and has since been casting his eye over players in the Scottish Premier League.
He has also hinted that the likes of Sunderland full-back Phil Bardsley and Brian Howard of Barnsley could be considered - despite their links with England - because they also qualify to play for Scotland.
Scotland face Croatia at Hampden Park on 26th March and Burley admits he still has a lot to think about.
He told Sky Sports News: "At the moment I am looking at all different options. I've been watching lot of games in Scotland and some in England and then deciding and maybe approaching the players who I want to bring into the squad.
"We certainly haven't reached that because there are a number of players there who may be possibilities to bring into the squad."
Asked about Howard, Burley added: "There are a number of players. I'm not going to name names but there are a number of players pushing to get into the squad and that is something I've got to assess."
Burley is keen to line up another couple of games before Scotland's first World Cup qualifier in September against Macedonia.
Iran contacted the Scottish Football Association over the possibility of a friendly in Tehran at the end of May, but Burley has played down the chances of the game going ahead.
"There have been a couple of different proposals for a game in May," he said.
"Iran have approached the SFA but the odds are very much against it.
"We have a problem in May in that it looks as if the Old Firm are both going on tours so we could be missing six or seven players.
"But then again, we have very few opportunities to play games in the build-up to the World Cup qualifiers, so I would like to get something sorted for May because then the next friendly date won't be until August.
"I'm very pleased with the game coming up against Croatia at Hampden.
"I think that is going to be a tremendous match and great preparation but it would be nice to get another couple of games."
