Lee McCulloch has backed George Burley as the right man to take Scotland forward.
Burley is set to be named as Scotland's new manager in the next 24 hours after the Scottish Football Association agreed a compensation deal with Southampton for their manager.
Rangers forward McCulloch is happy with the appointment and believes Burley will be a success with Scotland.
"It is brilliant to see him [Burley] come in," McCulloch told Sky Sports News. "He has done really well at the clubs he has managed at.
"He has got experience and he will come in with his own ideas, his own way of playing, his own ways of teaching and it is another manager as players we can learn off and get experience from.
"I think it is a great appointment."
Asked what kind of manager Burley will be, McCulloch said: "A passionate one who knows his tactics and knows his football.
"He has managed in Scotland and down in England so he comes with a good pedigree."
