Scotland Under 21s cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory over Lithuania at Easter Road to get their qualification campaign for the 2009 European Championship off and running.
After collecting just one point from their opening two games, Maurice Malpas' side produced a dominant display to boost confidence for the challenges ahead.
Lithuania kept Scotland at bay for 44 minutes before Ross McCormack broke the deadlock with a shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.
Less than a minute later McCormack turned provider for Charlie Mulgrew to double Scotland's advantage.
Lithuania briefly threatened at the start of the second half and Scotland goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald was twice forced to make fine saves.
But Hibernian midfielder Steven Fletcher scored on his home ground in the 59th minute to clinch victory for the Scots.
