Macedonian frontman opens the door to Mourinho's men

Goran Pandev has admitted that he would welcome the opportunity to take in a second spell at Inter Milan. The Macedonia international is currently available as a free agent after winning his legal battle against Lazio to have his contract cancelled. The 26-year-old fell out with the Roman outfit after handing in a transfer request over the summer. With Lazio unwilling to do business, he was forced to train alone and was not considered for first-team duty. He has, however, been able to resolve the issue and is now looking to find a new employer in the January transfer window. Pandev spent three unsuccessful years with Inter between 2001 and 2004, failing to make a single senior appearance, but the reigning Serie A champions are hot favourites to land his signature in the New Year. "In my career I have never been afraid of competition for places because I have faith in my abilities," the striker told Makedonjia Sport. "Inter is a great club and matches my ambitions, which are to fight for the various titles and play in the Champions League. "But there is nothing yet sorted with the Nerazzurri club."

Inter have also admitted to holding an interest in Pandev, with transfer consultant Gariele Oriali revealing: "It is no secret that we like him. He has unique characteristics which would integrate well with the strikers we already have." Oriali has also sought to play down reports linking Inter with Roma's Brazilian forward Julio Baptista, insisting Jose Mourinho would have to sell before he had the funds to push through such a deal. "It is a possibility, but it depends very much on sales," he added. On those who may be moved on, he said: "Mancini, (Ricardo) Quaresma and (David) Suazo? We are happy with the squad, but we also accept the needs of individuals who may want more space."
