Winger on brink of return to Italy

Genoa have revealed they are poised to bring in Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma. Quaresma is currently contracted to Inter Milan but he was loaned out to Chelsea in the winter transfer window after a quiet first half to the season. Luiz Felipe Scolari was then sacked as manager just days after his arrival at Stamford Bridge and Quaresma has barely featured under Guus Hiidink. Jose Mourinho stated last week that Quaresma could still have a future at Inter, but Genoa have now confirmed he will be a Grifoni player next term. "There is an agreement with Quaresma and we will get him in joint ownership (with Inter) for 10 million euros (£8.8m)," said Genoa president Enrico Preziosi. The 25-year-old, who has previously spent time with Barcelona and Porto, will be joined at Genoa by former Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo. The Argentine's contract with Inter ends this summer and Genoa look set to win the race for his signature. "We should conclude Crespo's signing by tomorrow night," said Preziosi.
