Reds defender makes his way to Athens

Sebastian Leto has flown to Greece ahead of his proposed loan switch to Olympiakos. The Liverpool winger is set to undergo a medical at the Greek champions on Tuesday prior to his official unveiling. He will sign an initial one-year deal, although Olympiakos will have the option of extending his stay until 2010 should the Argentinean impress during the first 12 months. No agreement has been reached between the two clubs regarding a possible permanent switch, so Leto will be expected to return to Liverpool at the conclusion of the contract. He has been forced out on loan following his failure to secure a work permit which would have allowed him to continue his career in England.

Cearense

Meanwhile, Olympiakos have also signed Dudu Cearense from Russian giants CSKA Moscow. The Brazilian is expected in Athens to undergo a medical examination later in the week, with a 5million euros (£3.9m) deal then set to be completed. The midfielder will pen a four-year contract at the Karaiskakis Stadium with an annual salary of 1.5million euros (£1.1m).
