Internazionale ace Olivier Dacourt faces a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The French international picked up the knee ligament problem during Sunday's 2-0 win at Fiorentina.
Scans have shown the full extent of the injury and he is expected to undergo surgery in the next few days.
Inter have refused to disclose how long Dacourt will be sidelined for but the injury is likely to keep the former Leeds and Everton midfielder out of action for up to six weeks.
The news is a blow for Inter coach Roberto Mancini as he is already without long-term injury victims Patrick Vieira and Luis Figo.
