The draw means City are out of the Champions League at the group stage for the second consecutive season. In stark contrast, Arsenal safely negotiated the group stage for the 13th successive year thanks to a 2-0 win over Montpellier.

Aguero did more than anyone to make things happen for Manchester City and scored the equaliser from the penalty spot. But he will regret his tame effort that was brilliantly saved by Iker Casillas just after the hour mark.
Referee
Gianluca Rocchi made some curious decisions and was perhaps a little quick to book players. He also angered Cristiano Ronaldo for refusing to award several clear fouls and the penalty decision was a little soft.
