Skysports.com's ratings review feature, in its format of heroes and villains, takes a look at the stars and the flops from the second set of fixtures in the Premier League.
The player ratings awarded by readers and journalists after every match of the season are used to assess the performances of the individuals on show.
It is possible to give your rating on all the players in the Premier League via the player rating tab of each fixture and we will continue to round up the best and the worst in the top flight.
Heroes
Luka Modric
The Croatia international is flavour of the month again at White Hart Lane following an eye-catching display in Tottenham's 4-0 demolition job of nine-man Liverpool on Sunday. Modric alienated fans over his desire to join Chelsea, however, Spurs dug their heels firmly in. His blistering opener in a one-sided romp proves he is fully-focused once again. Our man in the know Rob Parrish dished out a healthy nine rating, a number matched by fans.
Wes Brown
Brown may not have taken the accolades in the star-studded side that is Manchester United over the years, but he is proving a quality addition for Steve Bruce's Sunderland. The 31-year-old defender has brought a wealth of experience to The Black Cats and he made a number of crucial plays in their weekend thumping of Stoke City. He landed an eight for helping keep a clean sheet and he received an 8.4 from the public.
Scott Sinclair
It has been a season of struggle so far for Swansea City on the back of promotion, although Brendan Rodgers' side finally flexed their muscles at the weekend with a 3-0 thumping of West Brom. Sinclair was superb for The Swans in their promotion campaign and he was a key player against The Baggies with a goal and as assist. He was the man of the match and picked up a nine while fans felt his display merited an 8.5 rating.
Villains
Charlie Adam
The former Blackpool midfielder had made a lively start to his Liverpool career, however, he had a day to forget in Sunday's heavy defeat to Tottenham. The Scotland international had made little impact on the game prior to making a massive impression on Scott Parker's thigh. He was shown a second yellow card and sent from the field of play. Mr Parrish awarded a lowly four, although the public were not as forgiving with a 2.4.
Ivan Klasnic
Bolton's striker did little to aid the side's cause at the weekend when he was dismissed for an apparent head-butt on Norwich striker Steve Morrison. The Canaries were already leading 2-0 when Klasnic was needlessly sent off, leaving Bolton with little chance of a comeback. They pulled one back, but Norwich held on. Our man in the stands gave him a four while the fans dished out a poor 3.4 mark.
George Elokobi
The Wolves defender cops the flak for a below-par showing by Mick McCarthy's side against QPR over the weekend. Wolves had made a lively start to the new season, but they were undone on home soil as Neil Warnock's troops ran out 3-0 winners at Molineux. Elokobi in particular had a difficult time of things and his lowly 2.4 rating from the public was only just bettered by our four rating.
