Portsmouth pair Kanu and John Utaka have been called up for Nigeria's friendly against Mexico next month.
Kanu and Utaka, who have both been in fine form for Pompey this season, will link up with their international team-mates in Germany on 10th October, ahead of the game three days later.
Four other English-based players, Danny Shittu of Watford, Chelsea's John Obi Mikel, Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins and Dickson Etuhu of Sunderland, have also made the squad.
Everton forward Yakubu Aiyegbeni, however, has been left out of the 19-man party selected by coach Berti Vogts.
Uncapped Duisburg striker Ishiaku Manasseh has been included.
The Nigerian FA has also lined up a friendly against Slovakia for 17th November, ahead of the African Cup of Nations in Ghana next year.
