Defender could head back to Brazil

Brazilian centre-back Lucio is poised to leave Inter Milan this summer, according to his agent. The 34-year-old has been a regular for the Nerazzurri since joining the Serie A club from Bayern Munich in 2009. And, despite signing a new deal at the San Siro last summer until 2014, his representative claims Lucio could make a move to another top European club or return to his native Brazil. "He had three great years at Internazionale and now he thinks it is time for a change," agent Sandro Becker told Brazilian sports newspaper Lance. "We have been discussing this for a while now and we talked about it again on Wednesday. "Now it's time to find a new team."

Offer

Becker added Lucio's contract will not be terminated by the Milan giants and he would only be able to leave if an offer comes in for him. "His contract ends in two years and if we find a new team, then we can talk and get things done," continued Becker. "He intends to keep playing in a big European league, but you never know. "Many Brazilian clubs are interested in him and Lucio is aware that the World Cup will be played here (in Brazil) but we don't know the future."
