Leicester City were among those reportedly keen on Randers FC striker Ronnie Schwartz, but he has completed a switch to Guingamp.

It is believed that the French side have spent around two million euros (£807,000) on the highly-rated frontman.

Sunderland have also been linked with the Danish forward in the past, with an impressive strike rate in his homeland drawing admiring glances from afar.

Schwartz netted 15 times in 26 appearances last season and was open in his desire to take on a new challenge.

He has now been granted his wish, with all parties delighted to have seen a transfer pushed through.

Schwartz told Randers’ official website: “I feel that it is the right time to move abroad now after three fantastic seasons at Randers FC.

“When I came here in 2011, I was not expecting that things would go as well and that suddenly I would be moving to one of the strongest leagues in Europe.”

Randers director Jacob Nielsen added: “Ronnie’s appearances and many spectacular and valuable goals will surely be missed.

“But we are pleased with the other strikers in the squad. At the same time, we are looking for a replacement.”
