Sidney Govou has tipped France team-mate Karim Benzema to be one of the star players at Euro 2008.
Govou also plays his club football with Benzema at Lyon, where the 20-year-old hotshot alerted the attention of several top European clubs by scoring 20 Ligue 1 goals for the French champions last season.
"Karim has everything to become a truly great player, said Govou. "He is already a great player and could show it here."
Benzema marked his international debut by scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over Austria in March 2007 and currently has a record of three goals in 11 games for France.
Euro 2008 is the first major tournament for the Lyon-born striker, who is of Algerian descent, and he is expected to partner Thierry Henry in the French attack for their opening Group C match against Romania in Zurich on Monday.
"He's very strong techincally and tactically, and a very intelligent player who reads the game extremely well," added Govou, 28.
"I've never seen a player with so many qualities at such a young age."
