Team-mate rues Edman injury

Sweden defender Mikael Dorsin admits he feels for team-mate Erik Edman after he was ruled out of Euro 2008 through injury. Edman will not make the trip to Austria & Switzerland this summer after suffering a serious knee injury during Wigan's weekend defeat to Blackburn. The full-back is expected to be sidelined for up six months, meaning he will miss this summer's finals. Edman's absence means Dorsin could start at left-back in the finals and the 26-year-old says he has sympathy for Edman. "I feel sorry for Eric, he is a good friend," Dorsin told Sky Sports News. "That's football so you continue. "I hope will I play and we will see how we go." Sweden face Brazil in a friendly at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday in a game to mark the 50th anniversary of the World Cup final meeting between the two countries. Swedish coach Lars Lagerback believes the game is the perfect preparation ahead of their Euro 2008 campaign. "We'll be playing against one of the best teams in the world," said Lagerback. "It'll be a good test for us to play a team that in terms of attack and passing is as good as Spain, who we'll be playing against in the European Championships."
