Jay McEveley has warned Italy that Scotland will not give them an easy ride in their crucial Euro 2008 qualifier this weekend.
Scotland need to beat the world champions at Hampden Park to guarantee their place at next summer's finals in Austria & Switzerland.
Italy realistically need only a point to qualify for the finals and Derby defender McEveley says Scotland need to 'knock the arrogance' out of the visitors if they are to get the victory they need.
"You have to knock the arrogance out of the Italians early doors," McEveley told the Daily Record.
"You need to get in their faces right from the kick-off and show them it's not going to be an easy ride.
"If they do come here and think they will walk all over Scotland then they are mistaken.
"I think we can dream and believe we're going to win. We've come so far now we have to finish the job.
"It's going to be a difficult game but one that we are looking forward to and one we're confident about.''
