Stephen McManus is enjoying Scotland's lofty position as Group B leaders in the race for places at Euro 2008.
Scotland have defied the critics in the tricky-looking group by leading favourites Italy and France with two games to go.
McManus feels the country should be proud of the team, although the Celtic ace is determined to finish their campaign on a high by qualifying for Austria & Switzerland.
"It's been a while since we have been in this position, so you need to enjoy it as well," explained McManus.
"It's all right being realistic and keeping your feet on the ground. But it's important that you give the country something to be proud of - and so far I think we have done that.
"We would like to go that extra wee bit and qualify. We know it's going to be really tough - but we are really looking forward to the challenge.
"We've still got two games to play but we have a chance to qualify, just the same as the other two countries."
